Tanztreffen der Jugend – Bundeswettbewerb der Berliner Festspiele
Dances
The Youth Dance Meeting is a federal competition of the Berlin Festspiele. Every year in October, the application is announced and the submission deadline is at the end of March.
You can apply with dance pieces. Youth dance ensembles are allowed to participate, which are either part of a school, part of a (dance) theater group, or independent ensembles. You are free thematically, temporally, and formally. However, it is important for the selection that the piece is created by youth for youth.
The grand prize of the competition is the eight-day Youth Dance Meeting in Berlin with the following opportunities:
  • Stage: You perform your pieces and present them to an audience.
  • Campus: You work with dancers and choreographers on your dance skills. Every year, there is a famous guest among the instructors.
  • Forum: Choreographers and educators can continue their education and exchange ideas – for example, in impulse and intensive workshops or professional discussions and debates.
