SHOW UP! Buckow is a youth program of the Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln e.V., inviting young people to express their own voice through performative arts, urban cultural forms, and artistic movement.
- Theater and Performance 🎭 – Artists work autobiographically with participants and support them in identity work during this search phase of adulthood.
- Dance 💃 – Choreography in space enables artistic communication beyond language barriers and creates moving group images.
- Acrobatics, Parkour, and Martial Arts – These body practices train proprioception and accompany young people through their physical changes.
- HipHop and Pop Culture – Music and dance from urban cultural forms form a focus of artistic education.
- Freerunning and Artistic Movement in Urban Space – Formats that blur the boundaries between high and subculture and unfold emancipatory power.
- Stage Appearances and Performances 🎪 – Regular events, participation in the Junge Kunst NK Festival, and collaboratively planned shows provide participants with visibility.
- Thematic Journeys with socio-cultural and political focuses
- Leisure Excursions and neighborhood and courtyard festivals
The offerings are gender-conscious and create a creative experimental space where young people can experiment with their own artistic voice – in a phase where their participation in public life is often otherwise limited. The body is at the center as a medium of aesthetic expression in almost all formats.
